Pupils’ success
Year Two pupils at Agincourt School, Monmouth, entered a nationwide prose and art competition run by Oxford University. The competition invited pupils to design a perfect city.
Henry Parnell and Hebe Booth were runners-up in the age five to nine prose competition and Ellie Adams was the winner of that category. Victoria Baker was a runner-up in the age five to seven artwork category and Hollie Lowton was the winner of that category.
The adjudicators from Oxford University said in their summary: "This is an extraordinary achievement in a crop of incredibly high standard entries and we want to wish them all our huge congratulations."
Agincourt was also runner-up in the overall schools prize for the best set of entries sent from one school.
The headteacher Liz Thomas said: "I am proud and delighted to present these children with their prizes and certificates. Their work will now be on display at Oxford University which is quite an honour at any age."
